Toni Muir joined the St Vincent de Paul Society in 1989 as member of St Joseph’s Conference East Devonport and went on to becoming involved in the Centre in 1990.
Toni was born and educated in Launceston. On leaving school she went into employment in the retail area and administration. She moved to the Northwest Coast of Tasmania where she still resides today with her husband Tony. In early married life community played an important part in Toni’s life as she became very active in the parents and friends association of two schools. Toni has one son, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren, who currently live in Victoria.
Toni is involved in the parish of Mersey Leven as sacristan, special minister, liturgy and a member of the Parish Council. Toni has a real sense of building a sense of strong community in every area she is involved. Toni carries this over to local council and sits on two council committees.
Toni has held many positions within St Vincent de Paul Society- conference member, Centre volunteer, local and State Centres committee, conference president, regional president and volunteer regional manager. Toni joined the Society to help people, her passion is home visitation realising the privilege of listening to a person’s story and speaking up for them without hesitation.
