In July 2022 Lucy Hohnen was appointed the new CEO for Canberra/Goulburn following a national recruitment campaign.

Lucy brings to the role a breadth of local and international experience as well as a deep understanding of our work from her recent roles in the Society as Director People and Culture and Executive Director of Corporate Services.

Lucy is an executive with international experience in social services, aged care, workforce culture and transformational change.

She has worked at the Society since May 2021 following 10 years working in the public sector and adult social care in the United Kingdom.

Since joining the Society, Lucy has overseen significant evolution in the leadership team, its learning and development programs and our people culture to ensure the Society is fit to meet the challenges of a contemporary and forward looking not for profit organisation.

Lucy brings to the role a positive, collaborative approach. She looks forward to working with the NFP and community sectors and key stakeholders to ensure that the Society’s voice is heard on significant advocacy issues and that our services and programs continue to address the challenges facing our companions including homelessness, social disadvantage and community inclusion.

“I am delighted to have been appointed as the new CEO at St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn and to lead this incredible organisation that has so faithfully served our community for nearly 100 years.

Every day I am inspired by the people I work with and the positive impact that all of our members, volunteers and employees make in assisting those less fortunate in our community.

Our organisation lives its values and I’m excited about what the future holds for the Society as we continue to evolve to fulfill our mission of serving our companions.”
