Bushfire Education Scholarships

The St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria (Vinnies Victoria) feels deeply for the communities impacted by the devastation of the 2019-2020 summer bushfires. We share our condolences for the grief caused by loss of property, land, livestock and, most devastatingly, the loss of loved ones.

For students, we can only imagine how challenging studying in 2020 has been. With the added complexity of COVID-19, remaining connected and engaged in education, social networks and extracurricular activities has been made even harder in a time when they are needed most.

That’s why – together with our funding partners, the Jewish community of Victoria – Vinnies Victoria is delighted to announce the launch of its Bushfire Education Scholarships.

The purpose of the scholarships is to incentivise and support students to remain engaged in their learning. After facing adversity, such as the bushfires, financial distress should not be the reason that students are unable to pursue their future aspirations through further education.
