National Youth Team 2006
The National Youth Committee are an advisory committee to the St Vincent de Paul Society National Council and meet twice a year to report on activities occurring within each state, to discuss national issues relevant to youth and to help develop national projects. The team consists of a National Youth Rep who sits on National Council and is responsible for coordinating national youth initiatives, the State/Territory Youth Reps (who also sit on their respective State/Territory Councils) and a Spiritual Advisor who is responsible for the formation and guidance of the team.
Some of the National Youth Teams main objectives are:
• to share resources, ideas and concepts between states
• to promote "Bridging the Gap" between the younger and the older members of Vinnies.
• to provide youthful perspectives on relevant national Vinnies activities and issues
• and to develop national youth initiatives such as the recent Immersion Program to an Indigenous community in the Northern Territory.
