VincentCare Victoria

Operating under the auspices of the St Vincent de Paul Society, VincentCare Victoria was incorporated on 1 August 2003 (then under the name of St Vincent de Paul Aged Care & Community Services) as a result of the St Vincent de Paul Society’s desire to ensure major government funded works are developed and run with service expertise and managed professionally.

Originally developed from local conference initiatives, this arm of the Society manages professional welfare services focussing on aged care, homelessness and supported employment for people with a disability.

Aged Care Services
Elderly citizens are provided with care and accommodation through our aged care facilities located in Box Hill, Hamlyn Heights, Mont Albert North, North Melbourne, Traralgon, Terang and Westmeadows. These facilities include a nursing home for residents with high-care needs, hostels for residents with low-care
needs and a day therapy centre.

Community Services
A range of accommodation and support initiatives are provided to people experiencing homelessness or requiring help with issues such as general health concerns, drug and alcohol abuse, employment education and training options as well as social exclusion and isolation. Support services and temporary accommodation are also available for women and children escaping family violence.

Disability Employment
Located in Mornington, Ozanam Enterprises is a supported employment service providing employment and training opportunities for people with a disability through meaningful work and vocational skill development.

The services are largely government funded but also raise funds through donations from individuals and philanthropic trusts in order to provide additional support over and above the government funded level.

Ozanam Enterprises is a professional accredited business with safety and workplace practices that are second to none.

This commercial enterprise specialises in providing contract labour, packaging and assembly solutions and manufacturing a range of made to order timber products for wholesale or retail sale.

Social Policy & Research

The purpose of the VincentCare Victoria Social Policy and Research Unit is to develop an evidence base to:

• assist VincentCare Victoria in its strategic development,
• foster service and practice improvement by VincentCare Victoria and,
• enable VincentCare Victoria to advocate for system and societal change to benefit the most marginal and disadvantaged Victorians with whom we work.

Get on board with VincentCare Victoria and a national campaign of individuals, families, consumers, community groups and providers to ensure that the Commonwealth and State Governments deliver funding through a National Disability Insurance Scheme to support more than 410,000 Australians with high level and permanent needs resulting from their disability.
