“Now the strongest bond of true friendship is charity, and the exercise of good charity
is the practice of good works.”
- Blessed Frederic Ozanam, Principal Co-Founder of the St Vincent de Paul Society
The Spiritual Mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society is to continue the work of Jesus.
The Society sees in the life of Jesus compassion, simplicity, integrity, gentleness, kindness, selflessness, zeal and concern for the common people and especially the outcast, rejected, or deprived in our community.
The Society recognises and acknowledges the rich diversity of its members in terms of their faith, spirituality, culture, gender and work roles. It seeks to develop unity in this diversity and in the many ways in which individuals express their faith or spirituality.
The Society is a Vincentian family, which speaks of mutual respect and appreciation amongst all who share their personal gifts for the benefit of the poor.
