At the St Vincent de Paul Society (Canberra/Goulburn Central Council), we are offering a hand up to people in need. We do it simply because we believe people matter - we believe we not only have much to share, but also much to learn. We offer people in our a community a complete range of services that provide specific assistance, and focus on ensuring that the social, economic, and political pressures placed on the disadvantage in our community are reduced.
The St Vincent de Paul Society is a not-for-profit organisation made up primarily of passionate volunteers supported by a number of dedicated staff. The work of the Society is funded through donations, enterprises run by the Society, and some government funding. As a lay Catholic organisation, the Society does not receive any direct funding from the Catholic Church.
