SVdP Housing Australia

The St Vincent de Paul Society is a global organisation.
Present in over 150 countries, the Society has 800,000 Members and 1,500,000 Volunteers worldwide. Every day, it helps over 30 million people.

Vinnies provides aid to developing countries through international programs and fundraising efforts to support communities to become self-sufficient.

The Society is an associate member of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and a special adviser to the United Nations Economic and Social Council. It is also part of the Global Catholic Climate Movement and is aligned with the <a href="https://sdgs.un.org/goals" title="United Nations Sustainable Development Goals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">17 Sustainable Development Goals</a>. 
<h2>Overseas Partnerships Program</h2>
The Overseas Partnerships Program (OPP) is coordinated on behalf of the Society by National Council of Australia Inc. The OPP is overseen and facilitated by its the Overseas Partnerships Advisory Committee and Secretariate, working with State and Territory Councils and Conferences.

The OPP is delivered through St Vincent de Paul Society partnerships in the following regions and countries:

Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos PDR, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand 
<h3 aria-level="2">Pacific </h3>
Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati and Solomon Islands 
Emerging Societies are also supported by Vincentians in Australia through the Papua New Guinea Working Group and the Timor-Leste Working Group.

<h2 aria-level="2">Society of St Vincent de Paul Oceania Program </h2>
Since April 2023, the Society across the Oceania region has begun working together to establish a collaborative partnership that will be known as the Society of St Vincent de Paul Oceania Program (SSVP Program).

The aim of the partnership is to help National Councils in Oceania become sustainable and self-sustaining, by increasing their capabilities using current knowledge, expertise and partnerships across multiple areas. The National Councils of Australia and New Zealand will provide leadership, support and assistance to the SSVP Program over the next 10 years.

A supportive partnership between a St Vincent de Paul Society council or conference in Australia and an overseas partner country. 

We help Conferences and Councils in our partner countries undertake good works through local development projects that are sustainable and benefit their community.

The Assist A Student Program recognises the importance of education as key to helping break the cycle of poverty.   

When natural or humanitarian disasters impact their country, our overseas partners or CIAD may ask Australia for assistance.
