About Vinnies Assist
Vinnies Assist aims to put people seeking assistance from the Society in contact with the right people and services. The Society provides a wide range of services for people experiencing disadvantage and Vinnies Assist is a central contact point to help people find the assistance they need quickly.
It operates between 8:30am and 4:30pm on weekdays.
Who we help
Vinnies Assist has a no-wrong-door policy, meaning we will seek to assist anyone who calls to the best of our ability. If the Society does not have a service that can help, we can refer you to an external service provider.
Services Provided
Vinnies Assist can:
- Provide telephone support to meet immediate needs
- Link you to crisis and short-term accommodation
- Provide referrals to our services including:
- Welfare and provision of food and other immediate needs
- Homelessness and housing
- Domestic violence
- Disability and inclusion
- Addiction programs
- Disaster recovery
- Support in accessing external services
