The St Vincent de Paul Society of Australia stands steadfast in its commitment to social justice and marginalised communities.

The Society advocates for the recognition of Australia's First Peoples within the Australian Constitution.

The Society also recommends the removal of racially discriminatory provisions, specifically sections 25 and 51(26) of the Constitution, known as the 'race powers.'

The St Vincent de Paul Society argues for a comprehensive public education campaign preceding any referendum on constitutional recognition to enlighten Australians about the proposed constitutional changes and their purpose, and the diverse perspectives surrounding these reforms.

The Society supports these measures because all individuals, particularly marginalised groups, should be treated with dignity, respect, love, and compassion.
