The St Vincent de Paul Society will be working with local authorities in the Margaret River and surrounding areas to provide support where needed to people recently affected by the bushfires.

Financial Donations can be made in the following ways -:

1.    At any Vinnies shop across WA.

2.    Online at www.vinnies.org.au.

3.    By calling 13 18 12 and advising that you are donating to the Margaret River Bushfires.

4.    By mailing your donation to the St Vincent de Paul Society Att: Margaret River Bushfires at 76 Abernethy Road, Belmont WA 6104.

We will be directing all donations to the local St Vincent de Paul Society volunteer group in Margaret River who will disseminate donations as required/requested.

As we work with local authorities and the affected communities to ascertain the areas of need and support, the Society will respond as required and communicate this to our supporters.

Anyone affected by the bushfires in need of support – please phone: St Vincent de Paul Society Margaret River on 0428 871 822.

Please keep all those affected by the bushfires and the emergency and service crews working in the area in your prayers.

God Bless, St Vincent de Paul Society of WA.

Christmas Appeal 2011

This Christmas we are asking Australians to take a moment and think how a change in their spending could change the lives of others. Here’s why…

Nearly 4 out of 5 Australians say they’d be happy with a donation to charity instead of a gift*.

Instead, this Christmas Australians will spend over $750 million on unwanted presents*. That’s an amazing statistic. It means we’re spending millions every year buying things for people who don’t actually want those things.

How will you spend this Christmas?

This Christmas, Vinnies will spend time helping over half a million people and you can help.  By supporting Vinnies with a donation to the Christmas Appeal, you’ll be helping to provide services which make a real difference to people’s lives: presents for children, basics like food and clothing, practical support for struggling families and emotional support for those who have no-one to turn to.  And isn’t that something everyone wants?

Please, when you’re thinking about the gifts you plan to give this Christmas, think about a gift to the Vinnies Christmas Appeal and help someone change their life. Please click donate now to make a secure online financial donation.

Vinnies changes lives every day.

We wish you every happiness for the Christmas season.

Thank you.

2011 Vinnies CEO Sleepout

Thank you to WA's 107 participants who rose to the challenge and slept out for a night at the WACA on Thursday 16 June. The 2011 Vinnies CEO Sleepout was a phenomenal success with over $600,000 raised in WA and $4 million nationally to support the Society's existing homeless services and to develop new responses to tackle this serious issue.

Photos from the event can be viewed here. Further information on the Vinnies CEO Sleepout is available on www.ceosleepout.org.au.
