There are a number of tutoring programs that have been established across Australia - mainly to help migrant and refugee children with their homework and English skills. The students and volunteers gather weekly together for a learning exchange. The tutoring programs provide students with a chance to share their culture with the volunteers and to meet new people. For many of the new refugee families the program can also provide an opportunity to meet migrant and refugee families who have been living in Australia for longer than they have.
